Some more rivetting today on the forward fuselage. To get started, I rivetted the F793-L and R vent brackets to the side skin of the fuselage. I extented these for my vent support plates that also hold the headset jacks so I have 2 extra holes on the bottom side.

 Same on R passenger side

Then continued rivetting the engine mounts to the firewall. Did the passenger side yesterday, now it's time for the pilot side.

These are backrivetted when you construct the firewall but as it's mounted now to the plane, I had to use the flush rivet set on the gun and shoot and buck them.

 Overall good results.

Some time left for small tasks so rivetted some K1000-08 nutplates to the forward side of the fwd top fuselage ribs.

Also installed F7108-C reinforcement angle to the F7108-A fwd fuselage center rib and rivetted it to the F7109 plate.

Then started to rivet the F695 fwd fuse gussets on the engine mounts. These are AN470 universal head rivets and shot using the universet rivet set.
I tried to squeeze them but it's too thight and too much risk of damaging the rivets on the firewall side on the engine mount.
I shot them by myself and it came out ok. Damn difficult to avoid dents if shooting AN470 by yourself. Key points to remember: never lift the gun while it's still moving and keep the set as perpendicular as possible.
It's also best that you can set the rivet in one go. The more you have to give some more boosts, the more the chance exists for dents as the universal head also gets a littel flatter after shooting.

First rivets shot.

Also rivetted the fuel pump dog house.

These are the rivets. The rest will be screwed to the fuel line cover using 8R8 screws.
