No bird ever flew nonstop from New York to Tokyo, or raced 15 miles high at triple the speed of sound.
  But birds do something else.
They do not conquer the air; they romance it.

Some decisions in life are bare of any obvious logic

Today, the left wheel was installed permanently on the left landing gear leg.

Before final installation, I did some test fitting of the wheelpant bracket in relation to the brake disc. The spacing between this is very very thight but that's how it's designed to be.
In the picture you can see the small space between the white wheel pant bracket and the gold colored brake disc.

Final installed and torqued the self locking nut that holds the U403 in place on the gear leg.
Then installed the assembly on the U403 and bolted and torqued down the 4 bolts holding the assembly on the U403 brake bracket.

Applied a good bead of Aeroshell grease on the gear leg axle.

And also on the inner side of U403 (earlier picture)

Final install. Also used locktite on the bold through the axle.

Installed the wheel.

Te opening between disc and wheel pant bracket is looking good in every direction.

Test fitted the inner brake pad. The brake pads are clamped around the disc and will position themselves automatically over the slider bolts in the front.
The whole sliding bolt thing makes a lot more sense now.
